Tammi was born in San Diego, California. She became a Christian at the age
of three, after hearing her Sunday School teacher talk about how Jesus died
on the cross for her sins. Her mom led her in a simple prayer to accept Jesus
as her Savior. Tammi became aware of missions as she attended Shadow
Mountain Community Church and San Diego Christian College. She heard
about MAF at a mission conference and felt the Lord leading her into missions
in 2004, while on a trip to Africa with Shadow Mountain. Tammi graduated
from San Diego Christian College in 2007, with a B.S. in Education; she and
Rodney were married shortly thereafter, having met in 2003. In 2008, they
welcomed their son, Justice, and they are excited to pursue overseas
ministry with MAF.

Rodney is a commercial pilot and a flight instructor in single-engine aircraft.
He thrives on all outdoor sports, especially backpacking. These past years,
to provide for his family, he has been working as an aircraft mechanic,
gaining valuable experience and proficiency. Tammi is looking forward to
raising her children and supporting her husband as he flies with MAF. She
hopes to minister to the local women and children through friendship and will
look for opportunities to share the gospel as she develops relationships with
them. Tammi's favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "‘For I know the
plans I have for you' declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" She looks forward to seeing
these plans unfold for them, overseas
